Reinvitation letters are being sent January 20th for students currently enrolled at Grier who will be invited back for the 2010-2011 school year. A $4,000 deposit is due back to the school by February 25 in order to reserve a room. Once a deposit has been received, your daughter may talk with Mrs. Borst about reserving her room of choice in the dorms or cottages.

Graduation Announcements

Announcements may be purchased through the Grier School Bookstore.  Please contact Gretchen Hensor to place your orders.  The telephone number is:  814-684-3000 extension 123.

 

Graduation Dress

Seniors will need: two white dresses, one all-white short length dress, and one all-white long length dress, and plain white dress shoes.

Servers will need: one short length dress and plain white dress shoes.

Graduation Dormitory Responsibilities

Thurs. May 27, 2010

All seniors will have their dormitory rooms cleaned, belongings packed, and ready for final inspection prior to graduation.  All belongings must be sent home prior to graduation since no boxes will be shipped for seniors after Sat. May 29, 2010.

Senior-only breakfast.  A senior breakfast, sponsored by a Grier School Alum, will be held at Mrs. Grier’s home.  This is a seniors-only event.

Final graduation rehearsal in the auditorium.  (Place cards made for senior/parent banquet)

6:00 P.M.
The Senior/Parent Banquet in the gymnasium. (Proper Dress-Up required-NO jeans).

Parents, relatives, and close friends are invited to attend.  Each senior will be given tickets to this dinner.  If some girls do not expect many guests, their unused tickets may be given to other seniors needing additional seats.

Music & Dance performances in the Dance Studio

9:30 P.M.
Candlelight Service in the colonnade/courtyard area. 
(Short white dress)

Candlelight Service is an “ancient” tradition at Grier and very special for the girls.  This ceremony is open to everyone as there are no space limitations.  Parents are invited and encouraged to attend.  Candlelight ceremonies begin approximately at 9:30 p.m.

*No Student may stay off campus on Friday or Saturday unless they are with their parents.

Immediately following the graduation ceremony, all seniors may leave after verification of their clean rooms and meeting with the Business office.

Parents, please check that your daughter leaves her room clean and orderly.  Grier WILL NOT ship items left behind.
