TV Station Gives Grier Students an Out-of-this-World Service Opportunity
Grier girls frequently give back to the community through a multitude of community service opportunities, such as their recent participation in a local TV station's Cosmic Carnival Event, a free carnival for children and their family.
Regional PBS station, WPSU in State College, hosted a Cosmic Carnival event for children and families. At this free carnival, children conducted science experiments, played games, met a real astronaut, and took photos with beloved PBS Kids characters.
Grier Giving Back coordinator math teacher Mrs. Danielle Kelley drove the volunteers to the WPSU station on Penn State's campus where the students helped set-up for the event. During the carnival, Grier volunteers assisted at various stations throughout the WPSU studios, helping kids craft and decorate and make buttons of their favorite PBS Kids characters and cheerfully distributing carnival prizes.
