NHS's Capture the Flag is a Fun Competition for a Good Cause
Grier's National Honor Society (NHS) organized a school-wide Capture the Flag event to raise funds for charity. Four teams competed to capture the well-guarded flag of another team.
The event raised money by selling event apparel and circumstances that would help or hurt a team. For example, one team could pay to have a certain member from the opposing team "jailed" for a certain amount of time, while the teammates of the inmate could pay for an early release.
The Pink and Purple Teams tied for the win and donated a grand total of $500 dollars to a local Teen Center and Shelter. The Teen Center and Shelter is located in Altoona and provides emergency shelter for teens with nowhere else to go and serves as a community center where teens can drop in after school, get help with their homework, stay for dinner, and participate in nightly group discussion dealing with issues pertaining to their age group. NHS and Grier are proud to support local teens by giving to the Teen Center and Shelter.
