Grace W. Competes in Shakespeare Contest

In January, Grier hosted a school-wide Shakespeare Competition for students grades 9-12. On February 18th, our school winner, junior Grace W., competed against winners from other Central Pennsylvania Schools at Lock Haven University. Grace performed a sonnet and Lady McBeth's monologue.
The National Shakespeare Competition is organized by the English-Speaking Union of the United States (ESU). The ESU states on their website, that through the program, "students develop communication skills and an appreciation of the power of language and literature."

Grace W. was accompanied by 11th Grade English teacher Ms. Barr and several friends and classmates from the Grier School who enjoyed watching the competition and rooting for Grace. We are also proud to have a student representing Grier in the competition for only the second time ever.
