IEA Zone 2 Finals Results & Riding News Roundup
Grier Hunt Seat riders recently competed in Hunt Seat IEA Zone 2 Finals at the Buffalo Equestrian Center in Buffalo, New York, and returned victorious. The Grier School Varsity Western Team won Zone 2 Finals, which qualifies the team to compete at the 2017 IEA National Finals in Oklahoma. Grier School finished the season as Zone 2 Upper School Team Champion and Middle School Reserve Champion Team.

Mckenzie A. finished 1st in JV Novice Team and 5th in JV Novice Individual, Lindsay S. finished 8th in Varsity Intermediate Horsemanship Individual, Lindsay W. finished 5th in Varsity Intermediate Reining Team, 8th place in Varsity Intermediate Reining Individual, and 7th place Varsity Intermediate Horsemanship Team, Emily H. placed 3rd in JV Beginner Individual, Peyton B. finished 8th in the horsemanship test and 5th in JV Beginner Individual. These riders will be moving on to compete at the National Finals in Oklahoma.
Individual year end champions include Faith E. in Varsity Open Horsemanship and McKenzie A. in JV Novice Horsemanship. Emily H. was reserve champion in JV Beginner Horsemanship.

Congratulations to the Grier School Varsity Dressage Team for their success at the IEA Dressage Scrimmage this weekend! Mallory E. was the reserve high score rider of the day and won both her open dressage test and her open dressage seat equitation class. Peyton B. also won JV beginner dressage seat equitation. Second place winners include Sophie Kane in her varsity Intermediate dressage test and Lindsay S. in varsity Intermediate dressage seat equitation. Lindsay also won the sportsmanship award. Year-end champions include Mallory E. in varsity open and Peyton B. in JV beginner. Year-end reserve champions include Lindsay Weiser in varsity open and varsity intermediate, Christina B. in JV novice and Nisa Chavez in JV beginner.

Riders moving forward to zones include Lauren H., Ella P., Lindsay S., Peyton B., Hayley A., Claire K. and Ale G. Claire K. also won high point rider and the open championship.

Grier School also finished the 2016-2017 show season as Zone 2 Region 1 year end champions. Lauren H., Claire K. and Sophie K. finished as the top three varsity open riders in the region. Lauren H. finished as the year end regional champion in Varsity Open and Peyton B. finished as the regional champion in JV Beginner. Riders finishing as regional reserve champions include Claire K. in Varsity Open, Lindsay S. in JV Novice, and Thea N. in JV Beginner.
Wellington
Congratulations to Mia P. for her riding performance at Wellington during spring break. She earned two blue ribbons at meter 10 and she earned a 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 6th Place in Low Childrens.
