Grier Musicians and Vocalists Perform Individual Recitals

Students taking voice and music lessons performed individual recitals in Grier's Music Building before a live audience of fellow classmates and teachers. These performances demonstrated the progress and skill refinement made throughout the course of the academic year.
This year at Grier, four full-time and nine part-time instructors offered private lessons on all levels in voice, piano, flute, rock guitar, classical guitar, electric bass, violin, viola, cello, clarinet, saxophone, and drums.

Students in these lessons were encouraged, but not required,  to perform in the year-end recitals. This year, nearly fifty students participated in the recitals on six different instruments, including: voice, piano, flute, clarinet, cello, and violin. The students selected some very interesting pieces. One vocalist sang an aria from an opera, while another performed a song from a brand new Broadway show. One pianist performed an eleven minute piece solo. Other students collaborated to perform as ensembles. Audiences enjoyed the variety of musical genres and instrument combinations.
