Spring Weather Gives Students a Chance to Learn in the Great Outdoors
Recently, some Grier students donned waterproof gear and waded into the Little Juniata River, located just across the road from Grier. Although the sun was shining, the temperature of the stream was chilly, and the students weren't there to take a dip or fly fish. Instead, the students were taking samples and assessing the stream's health as part of a lab in Dr. Burke's AP Biology class. The students tested pH levels, nitrate levels, and dissolved oxygen levels to determine the health of Little Juniata. The results of the assessment: The Little Juniata is healthy, but cold! Brrr!
