Picnic Luncheon & Yearbook Dedication at Mrs. Borst's House

Following a half day of classes, students and teachers gathered at the Head of School's house for a picnic luncheon followed by a special presentation.  Mrs. Borst "gazed into the future" and made predictions for Grier's senior class, students presented the yearbook dedication, and Ms. Cari Crago shared a moving story of how small kindnesses make big differences.
Yearbook editors Mariel G. and Elyza C. presented the 2016-2017 yearbook to the student body and read the teacher dedication. The two teachers specially honored in the yearbook this year are super couple and campus residents: Mr. Arron Ort and Mrs. Ginger Reinhardt. Mr. Ort teaches psychology, coaches varsity volleyball, joins the orchestra on trumpet, supervises the lifeguarding and first aid program, and displays humor, compassion, and enthusiasm throughout it all.  Mrs. Ginger Reinhardt is Grier's Vocal Music Director and Director of Grier's musical. With her infectious energy and good-nature, helps students find the joy of music while encouraging each student to strive to do their best and leading by example. The editors also presented yearbook advisor, Mr. James Pingry with a special gift from the 2016-2017 yearbook staff.

Following Ms. Crago's moving introduction, teachers presented yearbooks and special notes to each senior, individually. As the seniors accepted their yearbooks, they also received a ribbon as an acknowledgment of the difference they have made in the lives of their teachers and Grier community. At Grier, every senior and every student matters. The seniors also received a second ribbon, which they were encouraged to share with someone who has affected them in a positive way.
