Multiple Awards go to Grier Riders at Marshall & Sterling League National Finals
Recently, Grier Varsity Hunt Seat riders and instructors traveled to the HITS-on-the-Hudson in Saugerties, New York, to compete in the Marshall and Sterling League National Finals. Maggie F., Sophie K., Linnea K., Lauren H., Grace W., Lindsay S., and Courtney M. competed in this national final, the first of many more to come this season.
Awards:
Maggie F. finished 4th in the $1,500 Modified Jumper Classic, 4th in the Hudson 3ft Equitation, and 5th in the 3’3 Jr/Amateur Horsemanship Medal Finals.
Sophie K. finished 3rd in the $2,500 High Children Jumper Stakes class, 6th in the $7,500 High Children’s Jumper Classic, 4th in the Hudson 3’6 Junior Medal and 11th in the Marshall and Sterling 3’6 Junior Medal Final.
Lauren H. finished 5th in the Hudson 3’6 Junior Medal and 9th in the Marshall and Sterling 3’6 Junior Medal Final.
Lindsay S. finished 9th in the Marshall and Sterling Bit of Straw warm up out of 71 entries.
According to the HITS website, "The Marshall & Sterling Insurance League is a grassroots organization dedicated to providing competition for up-and-coming Children and Adult Hunter, Jumper and Equitation riders. The M&S league has grown, since its inception in 1991, from 10 member shows with 100 riders to over 1,300 horse shows with more than 2,500 competitors today. The league provides an opportunity for riders to compete throughout the year and qualify for the prestigious Marshall & Sterling Insurance League National Finals at HITS-on-the-Hudson in Saugerties, New York."
