2017 Musical Theatre Winter Showcase

On Wednesday evening, the students in Vocal Director Mrs. Ginger Reinhardt's Musical Theatre classes performed in a Musical Theatre Showcase event.  Through a wide variety of solos and choreographed group numbers, the students entertained the audience.

The students have been practicing throughout the semester and many will audition for roles in the spring musical directed by Mrs. Reinhardt. Many of these students also take private voice lessons from Mrs. Reinhardt, Mrs. Silliker, and Mrs. Hanlon.
The program featured students from Musical Theatre I, Musical Theatre II, Musical Theatre Workshop, along with the students who participated in the NATS competition.

The showcase opened with a full cast number "Show People" from Show People with a solo from NATS winner Riley F. and choreography by Amy Y. Next  up, Grace A. performed "Snookey Ookums" from Easter Parade, Emma W. with "Critical Opinions," Emily C. did "I Get a Kick Out of You" from Anything Goes, Riley F. sang "Somebody/Nobody," Taylor V. performed "Blue Skies" from Betsy, Katie M. sang "Halfway," Mary D. sang "Not a Day Goes By" from Merrily We Roll Along, and Eva S. sang "Maybe This Time" from Cabaret. Next up the Musical Theatre I class performed "Raincoat of Love" from Fun Home with solos by Grace A. and Ashley S. Katie S. sang "Gin," Kirin C. sang "Unexpected Song" from Song & Dance, Erzebet M. with the titular song from Anyone Can Whistle, followed by Mikayla G.'s rendition of "How to Attract Boys." The participants of the Musical Theatre Workshop then performed a number called "Partner in Crime" from Tuck Everlasting, choreographed by soloist Amy Y. Then Ashely S. performed "Warts and All" from Honk!, Katie M. sang "Simple Little Things" from 110 in the Shade, Katie S. sang "A Trip to the Library" from She Loves Me, and Grace A. preformed "Loving Tallie." Then, Musical II performed "Opening Up" from Waitress, with choreography by Katie M. and solos from Riley F., Emily c., and Katie M. Next up, Linden M. performed "Always True to You" from Kiss Me Kate, Erzebet M. sang "And Then There's Europe," Riley F. returned for "A Little Bit Less Than" from It Shoulda Been You, Emily C. performed "Yay!" and Katie M. sang "Willing to Ride" from Steel Pier. Musical Theatre I returned for "Relativity" from The Theory of Relativity, as blocked by Emily C. and featuring solos from Emma W., Grace A., Emily C., and Taylor V. The song "Michael in the Bathroom" from Be More Chill was performed by Amy Y. The finale was "Sun is Gonna Shinefrom Bright Star, blocked and performed by Musical Theatre II.  Other Grier performers included: Ealing J. and Faedra W.
