'Tis the season for giving! The EGG Holiday Donation Drive collected items to donate to local needy. Students brough items to their homerooms or vouchered up to $10 dollars. The homerooms competed against each other for a FREE Panera or Mamie’s breakfast!
Items collected included:
Cash donations
shampoo
conditioner
body wash
deodorant
toilet paper
paper towels
dish soap
tall garbage bags
non-perishable food items
new socks
individually wrapped snacks
new pajamas size small adult to extra large, both male and female
Members of EGG collected the items from homerooms around campus. EGG club advisor Mrs. Keri Salyards will drop off the vanload of items to Blair County Family Services, and organization that will distribute the goods across different shelters and services including those for women and children.
The homeroom that won the contest for most donations was Mr. Jefferson's homeroom! Mr. Jefferson's homeroom donated around 250 items. Mrs. Garner's room was runner-up with 250 items collected. Learning Skills came in third place with 150 items. All together, Grier collected $350 and over 1,000 items to donate to the local shelters. Awesome job, Grier!
