Following her performance at the Trojan Archery Tournament, Lauren S. has qualified to compete in the Pennsylvania National Archery in Schools Program tournament at Penn State University during Grier’s Spring Break. Come out and cheer on Lauren!
The tournament will be held March 9th at the Penn State Multi Sport Facility. The shoot will begin at 8:00am and run through the afternoon. Lauren has chosen to shoot at 9:40 on flight two. Anyone is welcome to attend the event where 190 students line up to draw their bows and send their arrows flying all at once! Please contact Coach Barr for more information about attending.
A Tyrone resident, Lauren is a junior student at Grier and this is her second year in Archery at Grier. Outside of Grier, Lauren is an avid outdoor adventurer and has enjoyed practicing archery and hunting with her grandfather for the past four years. She loves to read and frequents both the Grier Library and her local public library and plays piano. She carries a rigorous course load and is also a member of Grier’s National Honor Society, Empowering Girls Globally, and Vice President of the Junior Class. Lauren plans to enroll in a Spanish immersion program in Vermont this summer to further fortify the Spanish language skills she has learned with Señorita Leen at Grier.
Congrats to Lauren for achieving this level of success! Grier wishes you the best as you compete on March 9th!
